This workshop is a joint effort between EERA Joint Programmes clean Energy tranSition for Sustainable Society (e3s) and Energy Systems Integration (ESI) with a focus on designing a sustainable framework for digitalization in a future society.
Morning session (led by EERA JP e3s)
This session brings together experts from diverse disciplines to explore how digital technologies can drive a socially accepted clean energy transition. It examines not only the technical potential of digital tools for optimizing data management and enhancing knowledge sharing, but also the critical human factors—social acceptance, cultural adaptability, and behavioral change—that determine their ultimate impact.
The session unfolds through a series of presentations that illustrate these multifaceted dynamics. Together, these contributions address key challenges and practical drivers—including public engagement, policy incentives, and trust—offering integrated insights from the social sciences. The session ultimately aims to ensure that digital innovations are more closely aligned with societal needs and expectations, paving the way for an inclusive, effective, and socially accepted energy transition.
